Palazzo Gradenigo: The Italy Branch of the Ahmet Güneştekin Foundation
Located in the Castello district of Venice, in Campo Santa Giustina at the intersection of the Rio di San Francesco della Vigna and Rio Sant’Antonin, Palazzo Gradenigo is a monumental Venetian palace dating back to the 16th century.
Originally built for the Gradenigo family, the palace underwent a major reconstruction in the 18th century, during which it acquired a rich decorative program with contributions from artists such as Jacopo Guarana, Costantino Cedini, and Giovanni Scajario.
Distinguished by its architecture and cultural legacy, the Palazzo reflects the aristocratic life of Venice through its grand halls, frescoed ceilings, and Venetian terrazzo floors. Its main façade opening onto Campo Santa Giustina, along with its inner courtyard and water gate, embodies the spatial character of Venetian architecture.
Following an extensive restoration in the late 20th century, the building has been adapted for contemporary use while preserving its historical integrity.
Acquired by Ahmet Güneştekin in 2024, Palazzo Gradenigo has been redefined as the Italy branch of the Ahmet Güneştekin Foundation for Culture, Arts and Education as of 2026.
Opening in synchronization with the Venice Art Biennale through Ahmet Güneştekin’s exhibition Silence, the Palazzo will, from 2027 onwards, operate at full capacity as an international platform for contemporary art—supporting young and disadvantaged cultural producers through exhibitions, production programs, and international collaborations.
Bringing together historical heritage and contemporary artistic production, the Palazzo stands as a center dedicated to fostering lasting connections between cultures and creating an inclusive environment for future generations.
